Pusher yields drugs, guns and ammo

Different kinds of hand grenades, guns, bullets and illegal drugs were seized from the house of a drug pusher in barangay Tilhaong, Consolacion town, early morning Thursday.

Eucencio Pasilang, 27, of barangay Tilhaong, was arrested by the Consolacion police led by their station chief Insp. Claro Benatiro after Tilhaong barangay captain Jesus Arcelo reported an ongoing pot session in the barangay.

Benatiro said barangay officials there also complained that the suspect often fired his guns.

Police arrived at the area and the people in the pot session broke up, prompting policemen to run after them.

Pasilang ran towards his house and prepared to throw a grenade against the policemen, but Bentario wrestled him down with the help of other policemen.

When police searched his house they found two rifle grenades, a fragmentation grenade, a .45 cal. pistol with nine live bullets, a .38 cal. revolver, a frontier revolver with 26 live bullets and five live 9mm bullets.

All guns were said to be from Danao.

Police also recovered a stick of marijuana, another matchbox containing marijuana leaves, two small packs of shabu and other drug paraphernalia and P400.

Police said Pasilang has only been living there a month after moving in from another barangay. Since his arrival, officials said illegal drugs proliferated there and so Pasilang was thought to be the source.

Pasilang is now detained at the Consolacion police station as separate cases of illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs are now being prepared against him. - Flor Z. Perolina
