A jeepney conductor was shot dead after an argument with a bystander at the corner of Gorordo and Archbishop Reyes avenues, barangay Camputhaw, last Friday night.
Danilo Tagunon, 25, of barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City, was shot by an unidentified man who was sitting along the roadside with some women.
Based on the investigation conducted by the Homicide Section, jeepney driver Reynaldo Jimenez said he was driving a jeepney with plate number GWF-142 with Tagunon as his conductor when they stopped at a bakery on their way downtown.
He said Tagunon then called up for passengers which irked the assailant who thought Tagunon was forcing his women friends to ride in the jeepney, an argument ensued before the two were broken off.
On their way back from downtown, they passed by the area again and the assailant suddenly shot Tagunon in the back as he again called for passengers.
The assailant then fled as Tagunon was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival. - Flor Z. Perolina
