Woman loses P12T to two highwaymen

A staff of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. was robbed of her collection money after she attended a foundation meeting last Thursday evening in barangay Cantumog, Carmen town.

Maricel Cagal, 24, of barangay Cabadiangan, Carmen town, went home late last Thursday evening after she met with the foundation members in barangay Cantumog, Carmen town, where she had also collected P12,000 from them.

While she was one her way to the public market of the town proper on board a motorcycle-for-hire driven by Rogelio Escotol they were waylaid by two unidentified men upon reaching the boundaries of barangay Cantumog and Norte.

Both men announced a hold-up then one of them grabbed her bag which contained the P12,000 as well as P900 in personal money and a cellular phone.

Police are now looking into the robbery.

This is the second time that a staff of the said foundation was robbed after one of its collector was also robbed of P31,000 last Saturday night after he went to meet the members of the foundation to collect their dues in barangay Cantubaon in Tabuelan town. - Flor Z. Perolina
