August 12, 2005 | 12:00am
A cook was hacked twice as he was about to allegedly make love to a woman in a secluded area in barangay Quiot Thursday night.
Vicencio Guzman Jr., 46, married, quickly fled to escape further harm, leaving his clothes and the woman behind. He sustained a wound on the right hand and shoulder. His attacker remains unidentified.
In his underwear, Guzman told police he and the woman work in the same restaurant and that he was only walking the woman home. He however wouldn't say why he was in his underwear but claimed the woman was just a friend.
Homicide investigator Alex Dacua told The FREEMAN yesterday that Guzman, who is allegedly a resident of Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, was hesitant at first to cooperate with the investigation.
The police later learned that Guzman and the woman were allegedly about to lie down on a grassy area when Guzman's attacker appeared.
He told Dacua that his attacker kicked the woman and yelled at her saying "Nagluib ka sa imong bana," before swinging his machete at him.
