Allegedly bothered by his conscience, the suspect in the rape of a seven-year-old girl whose face was struck with a big stone surrendered to the Danao City police last Saturday afternoon. The girl was declared missing last Friday and found the following day by residents of sitio Catadman, barangay Sabang in Danao City.
Pedicab driver Ferdinand Tizon, 20, was accompanied by his sister Alicia and friend Dante Castro to the police staion.
After the body was discovered, the police quickly went to Tizon's house to arrest him. A witness had seen Tizon pick up the girl. But Tizon wasn't home, so the police told Tizon's mother to advise her son to give himself up.
Tizon said he picked up the girl while she was on her way home along corner Marine and Almendras streets last Friday. He said he brought her to a secluded place in barangay Sabang where he abused her before bashing her head with a big stone.
The police found the girl naked with blood on her genitals and the stone with traces of blood.
The suspect is now detained at the Danao police station.
