Cebu Plaza Hotel reopening pushed

-
To help address the shortage of hotels in the province, Provincial Board member Victor Maambong is endorsing the reopening of the Cebu Plaza Hotel in Lahug.

In a resolution, Maambong who is also the vice chairman of the committee on tourism, the hotel's reopening would strengthen Cebu's tourism industry.

The Marco Polo Hotel Group would reportedly run the hotel, long considered a landmark here.

Records at the Tourism department show that a 21 percent increase in tourist arrivals took place in the January-May period this year as compared to last year of the same period. With the reopening of the hotel, jobs are assured.
