Murder suspect shot dead

A man facing attempted murder charges was shot dead by a policeman he allegedly attacked in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City, Sunday evening.
Eduardo Solino, 26, of barangay Banilad, was shot and killed by PO3 Noe Rondina, a policeman assigned to the Police Regional Office-7, who he allegedly stabbed in the abdomen. Rondina is presently confined at the Cebu Chong Hua Hospital.
SPO2 Juan Bataluna of Station 4 in barangay Casuntingan said Solino faced charges for attempted murder and was subject to a warrant issued by Mandaue Regional Trial Court Branch 55 presiding judge Ulric Cañete.
Around 10 p.m. last Sunday, Rondina went to the house of Solino to arrest him. But as he confronted Solino the man pulled out a knife and attacked him instead, leaving Rondina not choice but to shoot Solino.
Mandaue are police still conducting further investigation into the incident.
