Man arrested for engaging in "masiao"

The Provincial Intelligence and Investigation Bureau of the Cebu Provincial Police Office arrested a masiao coordinator in barangay Poblacion, Sibonga town last Tuesday evening while counting bets.
Led by P/Inspector Wilfredo Pulvera, the Sibonga Police served the search warrant signed by Regional Trial Court branch 26 Judge Maximo Perez against Randy Lopez, 42, a resident of the place. His three bookies were not around when the police came.
Seized from him 26 tally sheets with three number combinations, two stubs, and P12,000. Lopez reportedly has long been operating not only in Sibonga but also in its neighboring towns.
