The Bids and Awards Committee of the Provincial Capitol is now inviting contractors that wish to bid for security and escort services for the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center.
The Bids and Awards Committee-Goods and Services chairman Bernard Calderon recently published Invitation to Apply for Eligibility and to Bid for the security and escort services project at the CPDRC.
Security guards of the winning contractor will guard different posts of the entire CPDRC and also escort and secure inmates to and from court hearings or hospital visits.
The contractor must also have the necessary escort vehicles and necessary tools, equipment, security aids, and materials.
The contract period will run for four months, from August 16 to December 31 of this year.
The approved budget for the contract is P4,367,571.50.
Prospective bidders, according to Calderon, must have experience in undertaking similar projects within the last two years.
They must also have key personnel and equipment, be it owned, leased, or under purchase, available in the prosecution of the project.
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia had opted to turn to the private sector for personnel at CPDRC after experiencing several security flaws committed by the jail personnel.
The inefficient jail guards were relieved to secure the district hospitals in the province.
