City approves P128M supplemental budget

The city council yesterday approved this year's second supplemental budget amounting to P128 million.

Among the items budgeted under the second supplemental budget were the P24.6-million appropriation for the personnel services. The biggest chunk of which would go to the salaries of 50 newly hired City Hall employees who are at least cum laude graduates, and the hiring of 60 more, amounting to P11.58 million.

For maintenance and operating expenses, the city set aside a total P59.7 million. Of the amount, P14.5 million was for payment of the SRP loan interest and another P7 million for the "loan repayment."

Under the same category of city expenditures, the city also earmarked P14 million for the paving and re-treading of various city streets.

For the city's capital outlay under the local development fund, among the items included was the P17-million appropriation for the construction of school buildings.

Identified as sources of fund for the second supplemental budget are the internal revenue allotment (P32.4 million), general income accounts, specifically from garbage fees (P3 million), realignment of current appropriations (P31.5 million), realignment from continuing appropriations (P31 million), transfer of CCMC trust fund account (P14.9 million) and additional realized income as enumerated, per local budget preparation form no. 161-A and 161-B.
