Police operations head now Toledo city chief

Supt. Leodegario Acebedo is now Toledo City police station chief following his sudden relief from the city police operations division.

But the transfer of Acebedo brings problems to acting city police director Melvin Gayotin because he does not know who to put in Acebedo's stead due to the lack of qualified officers.

For the meantime, S/Insp. Anecito Perandos, formerly the deputy chief of the Fuente police station, is officer-in-charge of the operations division.

It can be recalled that the operations division was home to both Acebedo and then Fuente police chief Noel Gillamac when they faced different controversies.

With Acebedo out of the city, Gayotin was banking on Gillamac to assume the top post in the said division, but Gillamac -who has been on leave since May- extended his leave for another month.

Acebedo's transfer to Toledo was requested by Toledo City Mayor Arlene Zambo to the regional police office recently, Acebedo accepted since his wife lived there.

As of yesterday, the name of Mabolo police chief Armando Radoc who used to be assigned with the regional operation and plans division was touted as permanent replacement, but there is no confirmation yet.
