Ecleo case: Additional evidence sought from police

Finding that there are some objects and documentary evidence in the Ecleo case still under the custody of some police agencies, the prosecution filed before the Regional Trial Court Branch 9 a motion for the court to order the submission of these items.

Prosecutors Fritz Quiñanola and Kit Enriquez said it is important that the court has custody of these items as they are needed for the prosecution to make its formal offer.

Still under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detention Group are parricide victim Alona Ecleo's silver bracelet, necklace, earring, denim pants, pink blouse, underwear, a black garbage bag, a photograph of the victim's fingerprint and its enlarged copy, pictures of black garbage bag, pictures of her body, picture of her left arm with bracelet, picture of her left ear, pictures of her jewelry, a logbook seized during the raid, a machine copy of her voter's registration record and its picture.

And from the PNP Crime Laboratory are a fax copy of parricide suspect Ruben Ecleo Jr.'s drug test, a fingerprint card of Alona and a fingerprint examination report.

Ruben, who heads the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association, is accused of strangling Alona to death more than three years ago. He denied the charge.

The prosecution moved for the court to issue an order to the respective custodians directing them to turn all the items to the court.
