2 arrested for "masiao"

Police arrested separately a coordinator and a bookie for the illegal numbers game "masiao" in Mandaue city the other day.

Arrested were identified as Benjamin Demecillo, 47, of barangay Basak and Efren Kimbal, 65, of barangay Mantuyong.

Demecillo was arrested on the strength of a search warrant. Seized from him were 11 tally sheets and P250. Demecillo is presently detained at the Mandaue City jail.

Kimbal was arrested by one Harold Nacua, a member of Centennial Force Foundation Incorporated, while in the act of taking bets at A. Del Rosario Avenue in barangay Mantuyong. Seized from Kimbal were ticket stubs and P40.

Kimbal is presently detained at Station 1 in barangay Centro.
