A purchase order card collector reportedly lost P427,000 in cash to a 14-year-old snatcher at the Carbon Public Market Monday noon, to the dismay of the Carbon Police because the money was placed only in a plastic bag.
The victim identified as Mercedita Lacaran, 32, of Wireless, Mandaue City reported the incident to the Carbon Police few minutes after the incident that happened at the sidewalk.
Initial investigation revealed that the money was given to Lacaran by another collector and was supposed to be remitted to the department store that distributes purchase order cards as payment was already due that time.
Carbon Police chief Arnel Banzon said they already have the name of the minor, but the boy reportedly never came home after the incident.
Banzon said the suspect is a "rugby boy" who was arrested years ago for the same offense.
