Sabores de España
Marco Polo Plaza showcased the flavors of Spain with its annual Spanish Culinary Journey, Sabores de España, at Café Marco from September 14 to 19. Gathered at the Manila Room of the hotel for the launching of Sabores de España were Marco Polo Plaza executives, invited media and guests from Cebu’s Spanish community. General manager Brian Connelly welcomed everyone, and together with Honorary Consul of Spain Anton Perdices, Amigos de España en Cebu president Myra Gonzales and Spanish culinary consultant Gema Pido they facilitated the ceremonial slicing of the Jamon Serrano to officially start the culinary festival. After that, it was “vamos a comer” for everyone.
The event was even made more special with classic Spanish music accompaniment by guitarists Reginald Bernaldez and Ben Brillantes, and the Spanish dance fusion of Julienne Clothilde Berdin of Spotlight Dance Studio. The room overflowed with tapas, Sangrias and desserts showcasing the best of Spanish cuisine. It is an annual tradition of Marco Polo Plaza to feature these Spanish delicacies and is truly that time of the year when we look forward to Spanish specialties such as jamon serrano, seafood paella, fabadas, lengua estofado, assorted tapas, leche frita, churros and of course sangrias.
