Swiss Culinary Journey
It was that time of the year for another Swiss affair! In celebration of Switzerland’s National Day, Cafe Marco featured all things Swiss, from appetizers to desserts, alongside its international lunch and dinner buffet spread from August 1 to 5 this year.
An exclusive preview for invited media and guests happened last July 31 to introduce the featured Swiss goodness at Café Marco. Marco Polo Plaza general manager Brian Connelly together with the hotel’s Resident Manager Michaela Priesner commenced the celebration with a ribbon cutting and ceremonial ringing of the Swiss bell.
Guests paced their way through Café Marco’s array of Swiss goodness, from Alpine dried beef to Zurich-style sliced meats. The gastronomic adventure to Switzerland wouldn’t be complete without the melted Raclette cheese, chocolate and cheese fondue, array of cold cuts and sausages, potato roesti, apple strudel and Swiss meatloaf. Swiss brand, Victorinox, also gave away special leather wallets to two lucky guests in a game of chance during the launching event. Cheese, Cold Cuts, Swiss Bread and Swiss Rolls ‘to-go’ were made available at the Deli Corner of Café Marco for guests who wanted to take the Swiss culinary adventure home.
