Congratulations to this year’s batch of talented, exemplary Cebuanos! 

Robby Alugar, Success Story for Creative PR and Marketing initiatives.  A self-made young professional in PR and marketing who rose from the ranks of Global Carrier Phils., Inc., developed his PR and marketing skills through hard work and productive partnership with media and socio-civic institutions, to finally start and launch his RMA Public Relations & Marketing Services. The award hopes to inspire young graduates to become self-motivated to develop lucrative livelihood to support their future families.

Ria Lydia Espina, for Excellent Leadership in the Academic and Legal Profession. She is the only daughter of Emmanuel and Isabel Espina whose intelligence and initiative brought her to heights of academic excellence in the University of the Philippines, University of Cebu School of Law, and professional practice as a certified public accountant at Sycip Gorres and Velayo, to Aboitiz Construction as a practicing CPA and law professor at the University of Cebu, and the president of Integrated Bar of the Philippines Province. She serves as the icon for young women professionals and empowered community leader.

Fashion designer Dexter Alazas was cited for Fashion Craftsmanship and Entrepreneurship, Creative Craftmanship with a purpose in merging fashion arts with the essence of the Cebuana, defining and bringing beauty and its relevance to the cultural values of the community. He is the ambassador of Hablon de Cebu and serves as a footnote to young professionals in the haute couture entrepreneurship to hone their skills and uplift the dignity of womanhood amid the changing trends of global fashion.

Talento Cebuano is a special tribute given to a Cebuano, or adopted Cebuano, with special skills and contribution to the community. The project is spearheaded by Speechcom International with its founder Dr. Mila C. Espina and supported by the We Care and ALLEF Foundations, University of San Jose-Recoletos Arts and Sciences Masscom Department and the Education Committee of the Zonta Club of Cebu 1.
