A Hint of a Smooth Experience for Guests

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu’s urban lifestyle has always been progressive and welcoming to new additions in infrastructures and business developments. This year, Cebu welcomes a new addition to its hospitality and luxury services.

Ayala Land Inc.’s own hotel brand, Seda, has a new home in the Queen City of the South. Its biggest property yet, Seda Ayala Center Cebu, located in the heart of Cebu City’s financial district, is set to offer 301 guest rooms appointed with world-class amenities and service reflecting genuine Filipino hospitality.

The wholly-Filipino owned brand has performed excellently in the past five years, which prompted Ayala Land to appoint Seda to manage its property at the Cebu Business Park.

Seda Ayala Center Cebu is the ninth addition to the homegrown chain after Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Iloilo, Laguna, Quezon City and Taguig. A resort hotel under the brand is also set to open in Palawan in the middle of the year.

Seda, the Filipino word for “silk,” is a lustrous yet strong fabric that represents fluidity and smooth flow. To truly embody the seamlessness of silk, Seda Ayala Center Cebu is currently undergoing refurbishment to exude Seda’s trademark look of simple, contemporary lines matched with earth tones.

Aside from the hallways and lobby, the guest rooms are undergoing a dramatic makeover in line with the signature features of the brand. Function and meeting rooms are also being updated to offer a lighter ambience, with modern finishes and lighting fixtures. A new addition to the hotel includes an e-lounge area in the lobby, where different gadgets are to be offered for guests to use while waiting.

Seda’s interior design consultant Conrad Onglao explains that the property’s strong features such as the high ceiling in the lobby and the volume and flow of spaces have been retained. Artworks by two renowned Filipino artists – industrialist-photographer Jaime Zobel de Ayala and sculptress Ann Pamintuan – are also to be showcased in the hotel. The hotel’s physical design allows quick and easy access to various dining, retail and lifestyle options offered by Ayala Center Cebu.

Seda ayala Center Cebu is also bringing in a new dining experience with the hotel’s exclusive restaurant, Misto, to be situated near the garden, offering all-day dining and buffet. The ballroom is to seat 350 people in banquet setting and 700, theatre-style. In addition, the hotel has available boardrooms for large and small meetings.
