Sabores De España – 10th Year

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor Yclino - The Freeman

On its 10th year last August 16th, Marco Polo Plaza once again presented “Sabores de España.” Headed by Cebu’s authority on Spanish cuisine, Señorita Gema Pido, Marco Polo’s team of culinary experts whipped up a delectable spread of Spanish dishes. This year, the culinary delight featured a wide variety of classic dishes from different regions of Spain, including Jamon Serrano, Paella, Fabada, Lengua Estofado and assorted Tapas.

Guests of honor during the carving of the special Jamon Serrano flown all the way from Madrid were Amparito Lhuillier, Jaime Picornell with GM Brian Connelly and Gema Pido. The Jamon Serrano was so good that Rosebud Sala and Myra Gonzalez feasted on it like no other.

The next day, people trooped to Marco Polo’s Café Marco where international and Spanish cuisines were served. As they say in Spain: “Good food is a way of life!”
