Fantasyland for The Freeman's Yule Shindig
The Freeman's celebration of Christmas was a blast! It was a Fantasyland, likened to Disneyland in California, where almost all The Freeman employees donned on fantasy costumes and fantasy characters one can only see in Disneyland.
Everybody was so excited to see our dear Chairman Jose "Dodong" R. Gullas upon his arrival with Vice Chairman Johnvic Gullas and GM Melandro Mendoza. A little later, President Miguel G. Belmonte arrived straight from the airport. And joining at their table were Publisher Jerry S. Tundag, Editor-in-Chief Quennie S. Bronce and our very own Lifestyle editor Archie Modequillo.
Starting with our EIC Quennie Bronce who came in as Snow White followed by Bhoy Mendoza the St. Michael Archangel with huge wings, then Mitchelle Palaubsanon arrived as Snow White in green. There was Beauty and the Beast, Tinkerbell, fairies… name it, they got it. For us, it was so difficult to recognize the participants as they paraded around because of their makeup and their colored wigs. Truly fantastic!
Dinner was marvelous, after which the program followed. There were games, too not to mention the song competition. We didn't realize our Lifestyle Ed Archie Modequillo could sing as he led in the singing of "Kasadya" when his group caroled before the audience and collected some amount, the proceeds of which went to the Freeman Foundation. Attaboy Archie! And surprise for the evening was the presence of international singer Anna Fegi, who regaled the audience with two songs. Right after she belted two songs, she left for another engagement.
Summing it up all, this Christmas shindig of The Freeman was the most "alegre" but memorable ever to happen yet. PTL!
