CEBU, Philippines – Google has just rolled out a Chrome OS extension app that delivers a selection of paintings and artworks that have historic and cultural significance.
Named "Google Wallpaper Art," the extension is a Chrome OS wallpaper management and customization suite that provides users with access to the library of the "Google Cultural Institute" - an online library that includes archives of the masterworks of various artists of different cultures and generations.
Users of the extension app can automatically get new wallpapers on a daily basis, and should one particular work be of interest, the user has the option to learn more about the work via informative online links that have the details of the work.
The new app only works with portable computers that are running on Google's Chrome OS, but there have been a number of requests for Google to develop a version for Android. More information on the extension app is available on Google's Chrome OS store.
BPI's "Make the Best Happen" campaign launch in Cebu
The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) launched its "Make the Best Happen" campaign in Cebu on Friday last week.
The campaign is steered by the bank's commitment to help its clients make financial decisions that are not only rooted on investment returns, but also on goals that they wish to achieve.
Previously launched in Manila last October, the campaign aims to help clients first identify their goals, then formulate a plan that is based on their budgets, investment options, risk profiles and future goals.
A microsite designed to address the top six goals that were surveyed from the bank's clients was also revealed in the campaign launch - www.makethebesthappen.ph. It features articles on travel, health, parenting, shopping, dining and planning for the future.
More information on the campaign is available on the new microsite.
Facebook's new music sharing feature
Early this month, Facebook released a new "music sharing feature" that allows members of the social network to share 30-second previews of a song with others while within the Facebook ecosystem.
Dubbed "Music Stories," the new content-streaming feature aims to drive more exposure for up-and-coming recording artists by serving as a better way to discover new music - for a better the overall Facebook experience.
Essentially, the feature allows Facebook users to share a song that's hosted on a streaming site onto their News Feeds. Users of the feature can add comments on the song they share with others, and friends who come across the posts have the option to listen to the song. More information on "Music Stories" is found on Facebook's official updates page.
