A Park Inside the Mall

CEBU, Philippines - Staying true to their brand campaign, Parkmall opens to the public their new Atrium - a real park inside the mall - designed by the World-class Cebuano designers, Arch. Buck Richnold Sia and Miss Janice Minor, have created a unique park - a park inside the mall. The new Atrium of Parkmall is a park with its open space and relaxing ambiance where families and friends can gather to de-stress after a long day at work or school. The concept is by Parkmall Managing Director Arch. James Co and translated into reality by Arch. Sia, with Miss Minor.

The mall's centerpiece, the Discovery Tree, resembles a Talisay tree, one that evokes nostalgia from the summer days spent with the family at the province. Parkmall, being a true Cebuano mall, celebrates Cebuano culture and talents.

Aptly taglined "Rediscover Life," the opening of the new Atrium on November 7 was an opportunity for the guests to slow down and take a breather amid the bustle of the city life.

Arch. Buck Sia:

He is the principal architect of Zubu Design Associates, a progressive modern architecture studio in Cebu that offers highly conceptual and intellectual service, ranging from custom houses, interior design and hospitality projects all over the country. He has been named one of the 20 Best Designers under 40 by Bluprint Magazine and is also currently the president of the Creative Cebu Council.

Ms. Janice Minor

She is the woman behind the Janice Minor Export, an award-winning export brand that has received several "Katha Awards" for Design Excellence at the Manila International Trade Fairs because of its pioneering use of mixed media in manufacturing. The company is also the recipient of the most coveted Golden Shell Award for its excellent performance in export. Miss Minor has been in the manufacturing and export industry for 27 years. (FREEMAN)
