Great Filipino Cuisine

A few media friends had a wonderful time as we were invited to savor the Filipino Fiesta at the Radisson Blu's Feria during the Sinulog week.

Introduced to our group were Feria's storied chefs: Executive Sous Chef Randy Origenes and Sous Chefs Mario Semblante and Gary Reyes. We had a feast on the delectable spread of well-loved Filipino dishes such as lechon, kare-kare, sizzling bangus, shrimps in garlic, lechon kawali, baked tahong, Bicol express, Bulalo soup, dinuguan and halohalo among many others.

As we were enjoying the marvelous spread, Princess Anderlie, Director of Marketing & Communications, introduced the hotel's new Executive Chef - Roberto Kunitz, who hails from Germany. With cooking deeply rooted in his family, its no surprise that Chef Roberto chose to pursue a flourishing career in the vast and colorful world of food. His cooking philosophy revolves around simplicity. He believes less is more; that spices should never overpower the natural flavors of the ingredients. This approach to cooking, along with his natural talents in the kitchen that he developed throughout his youth, has brought him to every nook and corner of the world acquiring 15 years of international experience. For Chef Roberto, his greatest professional achievement was graduating as a certified Master Chef and culinary instructor from the Hotel Management School in 2006 in Heidelberg, Germany.

Shower For Lauren

It was everybody's shower party for Lauren "Sweet" Salimbangon who will exchange marriage vows with Michael Cantonao on Saturday, February 7 at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon at the San Pedro Calungsod Chapel at SM Seaside South Road Properties.

The kitchen shower cum luncheon gathering was held at the beautiful hideaway of Architect Tessie Javier in her "Bukid" in Busay which commands a panoramic view of the city! Oh so magnifique!

Hosts for the shower were members of the Beautiful Cebu Movement: Margie Lhuillier, Bles Patino, Dr. Marilou Ong, Dr. Chloe Credo, Monette Alino, Belinda Wong, Edna Enriquez, Anita San Jose, Edna Salimbangon, Malyne Paradero, Tessie Javier, Mariquita Yeung, Sarah Quitevis, Rhoanne Salimbangon, Lauren's Mom Fely Salimbangon, Janice Salimbangon and Flor Ynclino.
