CEBU, Philippines – One of the world's leading taxi haling applications for smart devices held its formal launching ceremonies in Cebu last September.

Easy Taxi - a mobile e-hailing application backed by a German venture capital investment firm and startup incubator Rocket Internet - is now "fully operational" in the city, providing Cebuanos with the upsides and convenience of hailing a taxicab using data-enabled smartphones.

Partnering with a number of the metro's taxicab operators, the app comes in versions for Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

Easy to use and lightweight in terms of system requirements, the e-hailing app works with a smart device's built-in GPS hardware in pinpointing a commuter's current location, directing taxicab drivers to the client's location in real time.
