The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - A series of lifestyle gatherings in Cebu has been slated starting today, November 7 until Sunday, November 9, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m, at the new Restaurant Aziza at The Tinder Box. Dubbed "Mode de Vie," the event showcases the latest collections of globally recognized designers Joyce Makitalo, Natalya Lagdameo, Ken Samudio and Maco Custodio.

Customers have the chance to meet the featured designers and get first dibs on items before they are distributed to nationwide and worldwide retailers. LULU DK Jewelry Tattoos, metallic gold and silver tattoos that last 4 to 6 days, are also featured.

Joyce Makitalo forayed into jewelry design with a bold, almost talisman-inspired approach to necklaces, pendants, bangles that echo the allure and enigma of civilizations past. Her pieces have been featured in Vogue USA, and worn by various international personalities such as Katy Perry.

Natalya Lagdameo fuses the past with the present, combining local skills and artistry to create pieces for the highly diverse collection, utilizing antique components alongside modern concepts. The compositions take on an updated aesthetics yet still in respect to the traditional format.

Ken Samudio's techniques explore the natural and organic form found in nature, mimicking its tactile features and distinct textures using indigenous and recycled materials. He is the first Filipino designer to be recognized in Vogue Italia's Vogue Talent for Accessories, this year.

Maco Custodio's works have immediately caught the attention of the fashion industry as they proposed unconventional approaches in material section of shapes. Shortly after taking further studies in Shoe Engineering in China, Custodio's unique footwear has begun to make appearances in some of the country's biggest fashion shows.

"Mode de Vie" is to be curated by Neil Felipp San Pedro, one of the country's most promising industrial designers, and Aziza N. Mondoñedo, jewelry designer and general manager of The Tinder Box. The three-day trunkshow is in partnership with Bigseed PR & Events. (FREEMAN)
