Caricatures of Breast Cancer survivors

Gil Maningo - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A unique art exhibit featuring a series of caricatures by artist and television actor Gil Maningo is currently on display in the first level of the Ayala Center Cebu's new expansion.

Bringing together 15 caricature-portraits of Cebuana breast cancer survivors, the show opened on October 10 and is part of the mall's "Pink October" highlights this year.

The show essentially pays tribute to the strength and resilience of all cancer patients and survivors from different walks of life - ambivalently saying something about how hope can still reign supreme amidst adversity.

Lighthearted, unflinching and honest in the way it deals with the harrowing subject matter known as cancer, the show runs until tomorrow, October 17. (YRST)(FREEMAN)
