Safe is better
CEBU, Philippines - A purely electrical provision for cooking - doing away with liquefied petroleum gas pipelines - is indeed a much safer home feature. Since no actual fire is used, the probability of a fire accident is reduced to the barest minimum, if not completely zero. There are other advantages to this modern cooking concept.
Two weeks prior to a gas explosion in Manila involving a high-rise development, the idea of a fireless kitchen was already hatched for The Midpoint Residences in Cebu. Lawyer Dennis R. Quiokeles, executive vice president and general manager of Pacific Land Ventures and Property Development Inc., said that "Though we didn't take a cue from the incident, because we were ahead with the idea, such definitely validated that we have to stand by a no-LPG development." They even went further to forestall any possible inconvenience on the matter by ensuring "a 100-percent back-up capacity in case of power outage."
While this unique feature is undoubtedly one of the best attractions of The Midpoint Residences, which launched on April 8, there's actually more. The P800-million project consisting to two-towers with 28 storeys each has the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband provisions for telephone and CATV (fixed lines), exclusively provided by PLDT.
"We are also installing streamlined air-conditioning systems to emphasize neatness and orderliness," Quiokeles added. The developer offers free unified installation, as it can look rather messy if the residents are to individually install their own air-conditioning units.
The Midpoint Residences will rise at the vicinity of Ines Ouano Road on A.S. Fortuna Street, Banilad, Mandaue City. It will be on 3,461 square meters area - 1,784 square meters for the two towers, with 1,677 square meters to be allocated for a sports club.
According to Quiokeles, the vertical residential condominium complex will have a total of 635 units - 339 at Tower 1 and 296 at Tower 2. Units are to be classified as studio, one bedroom, two bedrooms, and penthouse. A multiple-level parking is designed from Basement 2 to 3rd floor podium parking.
Groundbreaking of The Midpoint project will be in June this year. Target completion of the first tower is third quarter of 2017.
Pacific Land Ventures built the Pueblo El Grande in Consolacion as its flagship project in Cebu. Then it built Mactan Plains in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.
After The Midpoint Residences, the company "sets its sight on Liloan next, for Pueblo El Grande Dos.†The corporate tradition continues… building homes that are safer and, thus, better. (FREEMAN)
