Happy colorful summer

CEBU, Philippines -  A campaign consisting of a series of workshops for kids and fitness enthusiasts, dubbed "Happy Colorful Summer," has recently been launch at Ayala Center Cebu. It also includes concerts, fashion shows, music and art festivals and other events for the whole family.

Ayala Center Cebu is set to become a fitness hub this summer for those who want to embark on and commit to a healthier lifestyle through regular exercise combined with a more balanced diet. "Happy Colorful Summer" brings together different workout disciplines with some of the city's top gyms to offer a variety of fitness activities for everyone.

The fitness sessions are held at The Terraces area, free for everyone interested to take any of the Hardcore and Body Combat Sessions by Fitness First, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on designated Mondays (March 24 and 31, April 21 and 28, and May 5 and 19) or learn the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira Roda by the Capoeira Martial Arts Academy, combining the elements of dance, acrobatics and music on April 7, May 12 and May 26, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

Through the other days, there's a mix of dynamic exercises and workout sessions for overall physical conditioning as well as shaping and toning the arms, thighs and abs, with Cititgym's Summer Outdoor Movement. There are Yoga, Pilates, HulaHoop, Hiphop sessions on all Saturdays of April and May, 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Zen Garden (across Belo).

"Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition" contestant Allan Choachuy is also coaching in the Metafit Summer Boot Camp, but this program has a fee.  Metafit Cebu employs the famous  4-minute workout of Coach Jim Saret that helped Choachuy himself lose 124 lbs. and went on to finish the Ironman.

Zumba, a fun and effective workout system that combines Latin and international music, happens all Wednesdays of April and May, 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at The Terraces. There's a minimal, per-session admission fee to this Zumba Fitness Party spearheaded by Holiday Gym & Spa.
