Creative Director of Gucci
Destination: St. Bart's
In her luggage: "White denim short, lived-in crocodile sandals, a straw hat, a mini dress for cocktail hour, and a long kaftan with bare feet for beach parties. I hate heels on islands."
On the plane: A cashmere blanket, my jewels, and medicine because I am a hypochondriac."
Beauty pack: Sisley All Day All Year face moisturizer and La Prairie eye cream.
Travel advice: "Never eat during the flight."
DONNA KARAN
Fashion Designer
Destination: "My home on Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos for the serenity and the ease of getting there rather than the long haul to Bali, my favorite place in the world. Most of my furniture, art, and even architecture are from Bali or is Balinese inspired. Even some of the staff is Balinese. I call it my three-hour Bali."
In her luggage: "Most of the things I need are already there, but I always bring a cashmere scarf and my By Wanga leather necklaces as well as whatever new clothing I haven't yet brought down, all the paper work I need to catch up on, and my journal-sketch pad to capture ideas."
Travel advice: "Travel with an open mind. It's the only way you'll discover something new and exciting."
MICHAEL KORS
Fashion Designer
Destination: "St. Bart's or a private island that has great service with people who make me laugh and no cell phone or Blackberry reception."
In his luggage: "Flip-flops, aviators, black Birdwell swim trunks, white jeans, black t-shirts, and a black hoodie."
Travel advice: "I treat getting through an airport like George Clooney in the film "Up in the Air." Save the layered jewelry boots or sandals with 100 buckles for when you've arrived, not for wearing at the airport."
