CEBU, Philippines - Some 100 students started holding their classes on Monday in their new classrooms after the Apo Cement Corp. turned over recently a new schoolbuilding at Don Emilio Canonigo Memorial National High School in Barangay Pangdan, City of Naga, Cebu.

Apo Cement Corp, a subsidiary of Cemex Philippines, donated a two-classroom building worth P980,000. Each classroom can accommodate at least 50 students.

The donation of the schoolbuilding is part of Apo Cement’s Social Development and Management Program.

Led by plant director Gery Rota, the turnover and ribbon-cutting ceremony last Jan. 30 was attended by Environment Health and Safety Country Manager Edmund Trazo, Human Resource Manager Danilo Antonio and Health and Safety Engineer Ariel Lazarte.

The building was received by Pangdan Barangay Captain Aurelio Alinsunurin and Don Emilio Canonigo Memorial NHS principal Nicandra Aranas and the faculty members. (FREEMAN)
