CEBU, Philippines - Twelve speakers, 378 students, faculty, amateur and professional developers from the different parts of Cebu participated in the Google Developers Group (GDG) DevFest Cebu 2013 last November 27 at the Benedicto College Artists' Hall.

The event was organized by GDG Cebu and supported by Google, Google Developers and Globe Labs.

After its successful pioneering event in 2012, GDG Cebu conducted another season to open doors to aspiring developers in Cebu inspired by the active community that offer speaker sessions across multiple product areas of Google. The 8-hour experience paved the way for all participants and delegates to work together, exchange ideas as well as open the opportunity to everyone by establishing this large community of technology developers.

GDG Cebu Community Manager, Ruben Licera Jr., together with the other organizers and speakers motivated audience by sharing their enthusiasm on Google Technology. Success stories from different people also inspired the audience for they surely derived something useful from it.

"Lean team means less money wasted. Ideas are more concrete. Ideas, passionate," says one of the speakers of Tudlo, a Google application that allows people to be informed through its disaster and emergency response tools. This was only one of the few featured joint projects using Google Technology that was created to transpire not just for the personal opportunity of developers but most importantly, for the national awareness and safety of the country. — (FREEMAN)
