CEBU, Philippines - iLearners, a non-profit, non-government organization, has been active and true to its pledge to help improve literacy in Cebu one child a time since its inception in 2007. Early this year, the iLearners, composed of young professionals, gathered again for an important project dubbed as Brighter Future where each child received a gift pack of school supplies to begin the academic year. During the Recognition Day, students were awarded with small tokens in exchange for their academic achievements. One of the activities during that day was an art workshop conducted by the gracious ates and kuyas where kids of Lunas and Caohagan Elementary Schools actively participated. This Yuletide Season, the ates and kuyas of iLearners are again planning to bring smiles to their adopted schools through the Christmas Joys program where each kid receives a Christmas bag of groceries worth P300 to make their Noche Buena more festive. In order to achieve this goal, the artworks of the kids during the workshop were used as designs of the bookmark that the iLearners are selling for P300 each. This is their current fundraising activity which anyone can take part in. You can make this possible! Ask mom and dad, or your siblings to check the iLearners, Inc. FB page to know how to donate. - Ate Jen (FREEMAN)
