13th TOCA Awarding Rites

The 13th Awarding Ceremony of The Outstanding Cebuano Award (TOCA), in connection with the 31st anniversary celebration of “Tingog sa Lungsod,” a radio program heard over Bantay Radyo, and in cooperation with Cebu Breakfast Club, Inc. (CBCI), and Cebu Association of Media Practitioners (CAMP), Inc. was held at the Sacred Heart Center last August 17.

Led by Cebu Governor Hilario “Junjun” Davide III, other recipients of the prestigious TOCA Awards are former Cebu Governor, former Senator and DPWH Secretary Rene Espina, in the field of public service; Romulo A. Aying, in the field of general services; Maria Fema T. Duterte – environment “Forest Protection, Preservation”; former Mayor of San Francisco, Camotes Hon. Alfredo Arquillano, in the field of environment “Risk Reduction”; Dr. Stella M. Ygona, in the field of public health services; William Maceren, in the field of management; Cordova Brgy. Capt. Rosa Marie Suan, public service barangay level; Andy Uy and Junard “Ahong” Tan, both in the field of entrepreneurship.

Several public officials, well-known politicians, private individuals who excelled in their line of professions, some are retired and some, now holding high government positions, were TOCA awardees. Engr. Greg Senining, Executive Director of TOCA Awards is thankful to all supporters, sponsors and well-meaning friends who, in one way or another, extended their helping hand to make this year’s TOCA Awards a very successful one. .
