Cebu Parklane goes to Oslob

CEBU, Philippines - As Oslob makes it to the map of Cebu’s tourist destinations, Cebu Parklane International Hotel sets an avenue in promoting the place.

To stay true to its tagline of being “A hotel in Cebu that stands for Cebu”, they will be launching two activities in October to showcase the province: the Hunat Sugbu Triathlon and Sangka sa Kaha. This time, Parklane takes you to  the municipality of Oslob.

With the overwhelming success of Hunat Sugbu 1,2 and 3 (Dagan Para ni Maning), Cebu Parklane International Hotel explores a more challenging event in the field of sports with special attention to promote Cebu’s countryside. This October, the adventure team of Parklane brings you to “Hunat Sugbu Triathlon goes to Oslob.”

“Oslob has now become a tourist attraction because of the butanding (whale sharks). Also, there are a lot of scenic places to see,” GM Cenelyn Manguilimotan explained.

“We are very grateful that Parklane will hold their activities in Oslob. The people are excited. Oslob is now in the tourism map of Cebu,” said Mayor Ronald Guaren.

The triathlon event is open to 410 male triathletes ages 18-50 years old, as well as female triathletes ages 18-40 years old  in the Standard, Sprint and Relay categories. The race is on October 6. The participants will witness a festivity on the countryside in partnership with the local government of Oslob, experiencing true Cebuano hospitality. Like in the past Hunat Sugbu events, an abundant buffet awaits at the finish line.

Meanwhile, Sangka sa Kaha is a friendly cook-out competition that highlights food specialties of each city or municipality.  The competition is now on its fourth leg: the 1st year held in Ronda which highlighted the Humba; 2nd year  was in Argao, featuring their Torta; and the 3rd was Dumanjug’s Bisayang Manok. This time, they will be presenting Oslob’s specialty, Podrida, a coconut recipe with a couple of fillings – either pineapple or mango. The best food specialty in the Sangka sa Kaha that will win in the competition will be available in Kan-anan.
