Under-the-Saya or Henpecked Feng Shui!

Any powerful or ordinary Filipino husband normally claims that while he is the president of the house in marriage it is actually his wife who really is!  The culturally correct observation of the henpecked or under-the-saya Pinoy Husband! Or lover!

Florante & Laura epic quote of “O pag ibig, pag pumasok sa puso ninuman, hahamakin ang lahat masunod ka lamang!” ( Oh, love, when it enters the heart of anyone, it will destroy everything just to be followed!)

In feng shui, this relates to proper guidance for a harmonious family life with your wife and vice versa, for wife to husband! It refers to the symbolic Dragon side in terms of positioning yourself in the matrimonial or masters’ bedroom bed at home. This is always the left side.

Where do you sleep? To the left of your wife? Or to the right? Even if you are a five star general, if you sleep to the right of your wife, she, to your left; in feng shui you are only her aide-de-camp. 

This also brings us to the essence of feng shui for the home and especially so, for the bedroom! The yin and yang solution to this problem depends on two virtues for a loving couple to prosper at home and at work!

The yin side of the coin is sacrifice. The yang flipside is love.

So there, depending on how you intend to love and sacrifice for each other for your ideal unconditional relationship, will define your feng shui in marriage.  Yes, despite physical or actual feng shui of your house.There is no macho-culture in feng shui.  The rule in feng shui is whoever is the breadwinner in the family between the couple must be the master of the house.  And therefore, should always take the Dragon position in bed! The reason for this is simple.  Progress of the breadwinner will accrue to the family and partner!

By the way, in case you are truly decided to trade places on how you sleep in bed, do not do it now.  It is still ghost month!  In my years of doing feng shui to couples, I encountered many a conflict in this issue of henpecked feng shui resolutions. Normally, either the wife does not want to budge an iota or she usually insists to be on the Dragon side by hook or by crook invoking the “outside of the mosquito net” rule in old school Philippine tradition (outside-the-kulambo!). There are two best remedies for any Juan to take! Juana change? Here it goes in combination or singly you may take this practical feng shui cure in the bedroom:

1. The Agree Business… simply agree with your wife!

2.  Use the smart feng shui tweak:  if you don’t like to be under-the-saya, just remove her saya! (If you do not like to be henpecked, just  undress her!)
