CEBU, Philippines - A new range of smartphones and tablets recently made their way into Cebu’s leading venues for consumer electronics this month.

From HP’s Android-driven Slate 7 to Polaroid’s PROG400, here’s a quick take on two now-available-in-Cebu products – devices that bear meaning to the best-value-for-money ideal that’s often looked for by today’s discerning electronic consumer.

The Slate 7 by HP

Unveiled during the course of this year’s GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC), the HP Slate 7 is a 7 inch-sized tablet that is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz, backed by 1 GB RAM.

Featuring an internal storage space rated at 8 gigs, the tablet comes with support for microSD memory/storage expansion (up to 32 gigs), and also comes with Beats Audio sound enhancements.

Running on Jelly Bean, the Slate 7 is readily compatible with a wide range of apps featured in Google Play, from casual game titles to productivity-inclined solutions.

The PROG400 by Polaroid

Polaroid has gone beyond churning out imaging devices, rolling out its own line of smartphones and tablets. From the Polaroid ProA680 to the Polaroid ProGD16, the brand’s take on Android-driven mobiles is impressive, all in all.

As a budget friendly smartphone, the PROG400 is a finely crafted device, featuring a 4 inch-sized screen, powered by a 1GHz processor.

Dual-SIM, the device features an internal memory of 4 gigs, with support for microSD memory/storage expansion.

With Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi connectivity hardware, the PROG400 comes with Android 4.1 pre-installed, making it a capable all-around budget friendly smartphone that works for its users. (FREEMAN)
