Freshest produce at the persimmon plus

CEBU, Philippines - The freshest organic produce are the prime attraction at The Persimmon Plus on all weekends in August and on September 1.  One scores the best products and helps local farmers start up their businesses, as well.

The Weekend Fresh Market, which highlights the products of local farmers, is a veritable explosion of color and textures - vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy products, flowers, artisan crafts and more!

The Persimmon Plus is the commercial hub of Cebu's first urban village, The Persimmon, along M. J. Cuenco Avenue in Mabolo, Cebu City.  The first vertical development of homegrown property developer, AboitizLand, Inc., The Persimmon and The Persimmon Plus, are strategically located to provide unparalleled convenience and some of the city's best shopping, dining and entertainment experiences.

The Weekend Fresh Market is participated in by members of the Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. League of Cooperatives and Associations (AFILCA), small entrepreneurs and farmers availing of the Aboitiz Business Assistance and Guidance (ABAG) livelihood assistance program.

The Weekend Fresh Market is a component of ABAG, mounted in coordination with AboitizLand's Commercial Leasing Management Team (CLMT), a means of helping small local producers from the remote upland barangays to sell their products direct to end-users.

Shoppers from all over the metro have from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays to browse over the fascinating merchandise mix at the market.

AboitizLand's CLMT Manager Clifford Academia explains, "Through this month-long event, we help the farmers sell their products while providing our vecinos(Spanish for neighbors, AboitizLand's term for its clients, homeowners) and other city dwellers the valuable opportunity of buying goods at reasonable prices within a very convenient and accessible location."

There are 9 exhibitors at the Weekend Fresh Market.  They join The Persimmon Plus's permanent merchants - Three Sixty Pharmacy, Mr. Coffee, Dong Juan, Aboitiz-Jebsen, Casaverde  Dermspalon, Pan de Manila and Dogan Café, to offer the most memorable weekend experiences this month.
