QI Mandaue at 19th Discon

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor S. YNCLINO - The Freeman

Quota International of Mandaue headed by its President Aurora Achas and PP Pinky Shan, attended the 19th District Conference hosted by Quota International of Legaspi-Mayon. Venue for the three-day conference was the Oriental Hotel in Legazpi City.

Special guests were President-elect Karen Murphy, Past International President & SPA Liaison Berie Pritchard, District 41 Club Delegates and Quotarians from Australia. Practically, Quotarians from all over the country attended the district conference.

On opening night, District Governor Emilie Simon welcomed all delegates and our dear friend Elsa Yared gave the Quota grace. Wow!

The three-day district conference was a roaring success. For those who attended the Discon, it was more of a learning process especially for the incoming officers of the clubs.

And the most exciting news the QI of Mandaue got was from QI International President Laura Lehman informing them that QI Mandaue is the winner in the 2013 Quota Cares Month Awards competition. The Disadvantaged Women and Children Committee who served as judges agreed that QI of Mandaue’s entry was an outstanding example of Quota service and caring, one from which all Quotarians can learn and benefit.

Presiden Lehman added: “Your success is truly a matter for organization-wide celebration. Because there is no greater gift to your club or to the future of Quota than striving for excellence as you have done, your club will be honored during the general session at Convention 2014. Again, congratulations on your tremendous success – your club will be honored at Convention 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA!”
