Honey Jarque Loop - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Bohol is world famous for its fabulous coastline and spectacular beaches. For those familiar with the island, they know that the beauty of this place makes for some of the best vacations in the country. This is coupled with the vast amount of historical culture that abounds the countryside and there is never a shortage of things to do.

Located in Central Visayas, east of Cebu, is Panglao island in the province of Bohol which is blessed with captivating natural wonders and attractions. The latest is the Bellevue Resort. This fabulous five-star paradise is the newest venture of the Bellevue Hotels and Resorts led by its brilliant Chairman Johnny Chan.

While most of Panglao’s other resorts are on the northern part of the island, The Bellevue is quietly tucked away in a sliver of secluded beach at the southwestern tip of Bohol’s prized tourist getaway.

Managing Director of the Bellevue Hotels and Resorts, John Patrick Chan, enthused that the resort’s special location at the serene Doljo Beach, makes it an ideal sanctuary for privacy and indulgence.

Adding to the resorts’ many facilities and outlets is the air-conditioned tent Pavilion just a few meters away from the main edifice. The formal opening was graced by newly elected Governor Edgar Chatto, German Ambassador to the Philippines Joachim Heidorn,    Panglao Mayor Benedicto Alcala,    former Tourism Secretary Vince Carlos, dedicated Rotarian and consultant Art Lopez and businessman and philanthropist Joel Cruz. The evening’s host was seasoned emcee and Philippine Star columnist Johnny Litton. The Loboc Childrens’ Choir with their angelic voices    provided a soothing entertainment while the resort staff surprised the guests with an upbeat dance number. Immediately after dinner, invitees proceeded to the landscaped garden to witness the magnificent fireworks display while enjoying a fabulous spread of mouth watering desserts.

The masterfully planned development is nestled in an expansive 3.5-hectare property. The 159 exquisitely appointed luxury rooms and suites maximize the spectacular view of the ocean across the peninsula of Doljo    and the island’s lush tropical landscape.

Rooms at the resort’s north wing are specifically designed with  families in mind. Furnished with two queen-sized beds, it can easily accommodate up to four adults. With an addition of a roll away bed, families can rest comfortably and still have room to move about freely.

Honeymooners or couples celebrating a special ocassion have the option to stay in the resort’s deluxe rooms at the east wing which range from 35 to 45 square meters or opt to indulge in any of the resort’s luxurious suites which range from 65 to over 170 square meters. The suites are equipped with king-sized beds, LED TVs, ipod docks and yes your very own jacussi overlooking the 250-meter sun-bleached sands and clear blue waters.

The resort features several restaurants and bars each with their own distinctive tastes and styles. Flujo  offers a variety of refreshing cocktails, tropical shakes and sodas while  Cena  specializes in Western and Filipino fusion cuisine.  At  Lamian    guests can help themselves to a fantastic selection of delicious dishes. Seafood lovers are in for a treat at the resorts signature seafood restaurant  Marea, where fine dining experience is complimented by the stunning seaside ambiance.

Ryan Chan, corporate Director for Marketing and Communications of the Bellevue Hotels and Resorts    said all guests receive special treatment throughout their stay. “We know that pampering the guest is an integral part of genuine hospitality,” he further stated.

With the help of the resorts tour desk, guests can choose to explore the island. Beyond visiting the iconic Chocolate Hills, the Loboc River cruise,  or seeing the Philippine tarsier in its natural habitat, Bohol has a myriad of attractions and activities for tourists to enjoy. Definetly a must-visit is the Tarsier Botanika. In this botanical    garden, one can visit the animal sanctuary, bird aviary and the equestrian center. Of interest is a museum that houses Asian, African art and original classic and modern paintings dating from the 17th  century.
