May birthday guys & dolls
Former Cebu City Mayor/lawyer Mario D. Ortiz turned all 91 years old last April 9. And dear wife, Julita V. Ortiz with sons lawyer Danny (and wife Peluchi) and restaurateur Edwin (and wife Monette) saw to it that the celebration would be a happy and memorable one. And indeed, it was!
An added fillip to the birthday dinner party at the Casino Español de Cebu was the launching of Mario’s and Lita’s biography heartily and lovingly written by Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy. In his brief speech, he told one and all he was an ardent student of Sir Mario, and until this day, Sir Mario is Mayor Sitoy’s idol!

The first day of this month was Vismin Lipardo’s red letter day…truly a special day since hubby Salvador (Boy to relatives and friends) arrived the day before for his annual vacation from Nigeria. So excited was Vismin that Boy threw a dinner party for her at no less than Cebu’s five-star Marco Polo Plaza.
Before proceeding to Café Marco, Vismin, Boy and daughter Dr. Christine distributed packs of spaghetti to some street children at Fuente Osmeña, After which, her friends from the Jesu Christi Community gathered at Café Marco to help Vismin celebrate her nth birthday.
And last Sunday, another April birthday girl was Dr. Gretchen Chaves who chose to celebrate her birthday with dinner at the Parklane Hotel. Gretchen was, as usual, in her element as her friends were in dancing attendance during this important milestone. More birthdays to come, Gretchen!
