CEBU, Philippines - They sure have mastered the art of transporting their audience back to the glory days.

Inspired by vintage glamour, the designers at the Unveiled, the bridal show at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel, keenly oversaw the direction of the details so as it would still look like a wedding dress, not a costume.

Protacio raised the curtains with a strapless gown with architectural draping on the sides that revealed a sleek silhouette of lace with matching sheer gloves. Marichu Tan imagined her bridal muse in Audrey Hepburn’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s: sparkling tiara, black velvet gloves, serpentine gown bathed in thousand crystals.

Haute couture theme takes full circle in Anthony Romoff’s umbrella dress attached with a chiffon veil at the back. Humberto Villegas created a princess gown with sheer lace sleeves overlaying a sweetheart neckline—with a black satin cinch.

Jun Escario rendered another layering technique in oversized raffles—the season’s trend—by sewing them on a figure-hugging serpentine gown. It would be too much of a statement. So you see, it seemed that he bathed the frock in bright, sparkling diamonds—isn’t that a standard procedure to shower with sparkles on your wedding day?  (FREEMAN)
