The Qube Gallery and AboitizLand Inc. formally opened the Art Gallery at The Persimmon Plus with an art exhibit entitled “Bohol-Buhol 2â€, featuring 20 Boholano artists.

Jason Dy, SJ, director of the Alternative Contemporary Art Space at the Sacred Heart Church celebrated the blessing of the gallery followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony graced by AboitizLand Inc. Commercial Business Unit’s Rafael Fernandez de Mesa, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. Operations Head Amaya Aboitiz, Qube Gallery CEO Jon Kenneth Gotiong, Kaye Aboitiz who represented her father Andoni Aboitiz, AboitizLand CEO & COO, and Caesar Atienza.
Featured artists included Keith Ancog, Rhants Anunciado, Bethlehem Joy Bullen, Eric Catot, Henri Cainglet, Edgar Cornito, Guy Custodio, Jacquelou Curambao, Roi Ferre, Irish Glory Gallon, Joey Labrador, Glenn Lumantao, Carlito Masalta, Sam Penaso, Rico Tompong, Jeff Sisican and guest artist Melbourne Aquino.
The artists are a vibrant mix of established and emerging artists who are natives of Bohol, some of whom are still based in their hometown and some based in Manila. Their works showcase the wealth of Boholano artistry spanning a healthy breadth of genres from realist works that stress the island’s natural wonders, to abstractions that have challenged the works of contemporary artists in the country and around the world.
The Qube Gallery Persimmon Plus is a great contribution to the mission of supporting fine artists in Southern Philippines and in professionalizing the fine art industry south of Manila.

Santo Niño Luncheon Party. Every year, when the Santo Niño’s fiesta is celebrated in Cebu, a week after, members of the Santo Niño de Cebu group in Lake Forest in California would also celebrate their fiesta. Last January 19, members of the Santo Niño de Cebu Group had a Mass and fiesta celebration. Hosted by the Hermano and Hermana – Tuti and Lisa Montecillo and other Hermanas Lilia Borromeo in Lake Forest, members brought among themselves some 20 different kinds of food including lechon. After lunch, fund raising and dancing (Gangnam Style) followed. The group was able to generate funds which will be used for the next fiesta celebration in 2014. Viva, Pit Señor.
