Cella marks Silver Anniversary

The Cebu Lady Lawyers Association, Inc., better known as CELLA, led by its president Atty. Melina Martinez and her board celebrated its Silver anniversary last December 3, 2012 at Casino Español. Founded 25 years ago by then Judge Esperanza Navarro, CELLA was organized with the purpose of bringing the law to as many as possible, especially among the grassroots and to establish camaraderie among lady lawyers.

With the theme “Looking Back and Looking Ahead,” CELLA honored its founder, Retired Judge Esperanza Navarro, Charter President – Atty. Arlinda Pamulaga and Past Presidents – Justice Marilyn Yap, Dean Corazon Valencia, Atty. Gingging Laude, Atty. Sylvia Suarez, Atty. Jugce Jugao and Judge Anne Militante. CELLA likewise honored its media partners such as CCTN Channel 47 and DYRC in bringing the law to the people. CELLA has a weekly TV program for almost ten years now aired over CCTN titled “Partners in Law” and CELLA also maintains a weekly radio program aired over DYRC  titled “Ang Balaod Karon.”

Although CELLA is a lady lawyers group, it also has honorary Cellans. Present during the event were Honorary Cellans Justice Gabriel Ingles, Mayor Michael Rama, Fr. Dan de los Angeles, Mr. Ricky Poca and Dr. Araceli Almase.
