QI Mandaue Feeding Program

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor S. YNCLINO - The Freeman

It has always been in the priority list of the Quota International Mandaue to help the hearing impaired, especially in their studies. But deep in the hearts of the members, they also have the ardent desire to help the malnourished children mostly in the depressed areas.

Thus, in August last year, during the Nutrition Week, the Quota International Mandaue, headed by President Aurora Achas, with Chairperson PP Pinky Shan and all the officers and members sponsored the Lunch Feeding Program for the special children of Mandaue City Central Intergrated SPED School and Adam Jennie’s Christian Center.

There are a lot of malnourished children and so in September 2012, the Quotarians started giving fresh milk every day during school days. They are being monitored and weighed before the program from time to time by the teachers of the school. For the whole month of September until now, the Quotarians of Mandaue give nutritious packed lunch to the children, as well as milk.

Being a service-oriented organization, the Quota International Mandaue did a good service to the hearing impaired, mentally-challenged and malnourished children of Mandaue. We congratulate all the members for a job well done…and keep up the good work, girls!

It was December 28, Innocent’s Day, and we thought Dr. Clara “Chloe” Credo was joking when she called that she had lunch prepared for the group at the Elegant Circle Inn in Fuente Osmeña. After calling all of us, immediately the group converged at the restaurant, and luckily, there were 13 who came to enjoy the crispy pata the restaurant is known for!
