A magical Christmas Eve to remember Last of 2 parts

Sophia Julliana Bajarias Bejarasco - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - “Oh no! The book is gone!” Melisa shrieks as Sparkle bursts into tears. “Queen Christmas wants that book desperately but it’s all gone. This must be the work of Lord Dark. He has become stronger and with the Book of Spells in his hands, it will make him more powerful and evil. No doubt, he’s going to ruin Queen Christmas so there will be no more Christmas celebration forever.”

Robin slumps on the floor and spots a piece of crumpled torn paper beside Melisa. He picks up Neil and points at him what he just saw. Sparkle notices it too, she tells Melisa to pick it up. When Melisa opens the crumpled paper, a bright light comes out of the paper and it almost blinded them. “There is nothing in it. It’s a blank paper,” Melissa announces sadly. Sparkle’s face lights up for she knows that it can help them and speaks to Melisa, “Melisa, take the paper with you.”  They all hurriedly go back to the yellow room but Queen Christmas is missing. They start to lose hope when all of a sudden a gust of wind goes in and drops a letter on Neil’s shell. Neil screams with anger as he turns around trying to let the letter fall out, but it continues to stick. Melisa giggles as she removes it and reads loudly. She shows it to Sparkle and says, “This is bad news. While the queen is waiting for us, Lord Dark kidnaps her and leaves us this letter. You are right, the book disappears because Lord Dark is invisible when he snatches it away from us!” Robin yells, “What are we waiting for? Let`s save the queen now!” Neil bravely says, “I know exactly what we need that will take us to the Forbidden City.” Neil chants another strange poem. A carriage with horses magically appears in front of them.

The four friends immediately mount the carriage as Melisa commands the horses to bring them to the dreaded Forbidden City. Neil gives instructions.

“Okay, since Robin is a little bit sneaky, I`ll let him distract the Dark Guards as they follow him anywhere he goes. Is that okay with you, boy?” Robin agrees right away.

Neil continues, “Since I`m gooey and sticky, I`m in charge of opening the gate for the two gentle ladies.” Melisa and Sparkle nod.

“Okay! Are we all ready? Robin, are you ready to face your adventure of a lifetime?” Melisa asks them all.

They are all smiling when Robin tells his sister, “Yep! We`re all good! Now let`s go!” They all position themselves as Neil gives the signal. Quickly, the carriage goes up the air.

Melisa and Robin are in shock to see horses with wings. “Wow! This is amazing!” Melisa shouts cheerfully. “This is a magic carriage. It belongs to Queen Christmas. The Darks will not notice us as we enter the Forbidden City,” explains Sparkle to the kids.

When they reach the castle in the Forbidden City, they notice there are no guards at the gate. Robin feels something in his pocket. Inside his pocket is an egg and he throws it at the gate and yells, “Merry Christmas, everyone! Now where are the lady and gentleman of this ugly castle?”

In an instant, a black horse stands in front of him. “Robin, watch out!” Melisa cries as she tries to grab the hand of Robin.

Robin gulps and run away from the horse as fast as he can. “HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A weird black horse is trying to eat me!” Sparkle swiftly unlocks the gate while Neil faces the horse. “Horse of pain, I command you to stop!” Neil shouts as loud as he can. The black horse stops and looks at Neil and gallops towards him.

“What are you doing?! You’re going to be killed by this ugly creature!” Melisa screams at Neil. Neil bravely approaches the horse and touches it. Robin cannot believe what he just saw. The horse changes into a beautiful unicorn. The horse kneels down for Neil to climb on. Robin goes near the horse and helps the snail on and holds it. “Now, let`s go find the Queen!” Sparkle cries and points towards the entrance of the castle.

Inside the gloomy castle, Sparkle announces, “Let’s split into two groups!” “That’s a fantastic idea!” Neil responds. Melisa is hesitant to be separated from Robin. “I will be fine Melisa. Neil will protect me from Lord Dark,” Robin assures Melisa as he and Neil together with the unicorn fly up to the tower of the castle.  Melisa and Sparkle continue their task to look for Queen Christmas. “Is something burning or is it only…. SPARKLE! LOOK AT YOUR BACK!” Melisa shrieks as she ducks when an ugly dragon with two heads grabs Sparkle. Immediately, Sparkle throws the bag of fairy dusts to Melisa before the dragon fly with her. “I`m in big danger! Neil, Robin, help me! Where are you?” Melisa squeals as she cries hard. Meanwhile, Robin and Neil reach the tower. It is filled with light and inside is a glass case with the Book of Spells in it. They are about to go near the glass case when they hear Melisa’s scream for help. “Let’s go find my sister and help her Neil!” begs Robin. In an instant, they all go out to look for Melisa. They found Melisa alone in the dark hallway. “Where’s Sparkle? What happened to her?” asks Neil. Melisa quickly tells them what happened and Neil’s head turn red. Robin helps his sister up and hurriedly rides back onto the unicorn. The unicorn flies as fast as it can back to the tower. “Is that the Book of Spells? How are we going to get the Book of Spells?” asks Melisa. Neil detects Melisa holding the tiny bag of fairy dusts. “That one you’re holding is the answer to your question Melisa,” says Neil. Melisa pours a handful of fairy dusts at the glass case. The glass case is shattered and she quickly seizes the Book of Spells. Melisa opens the book and sees a torn page. She remembers the crumpled torn paper Sparkle told her to keep and attach it to the torn page. A drawing of a room where Queen Christmas and Sparkle are imprisoned mysteriously appears on the page. “I know where that room is,” Neil tells the siblings. Neil orders the unicorn to bring them in the library of the Dark castle.

Inside the creepy library, books are destroyed and scattered everywhere. Melisa and Robin are frightened even to pick up the poor books. They hear a familiar voice. Melisa shudders and Robin closes his eyes. The voice sounds like their mom‘s. Neil sees their scared faces and tries to comfort them.

“Don`t worry. You can go home after we complete this mission.” Neil assures them as he finds a diamond stone.

“That must be the Queen`s lost gem! The one Lord Dark took!” Melisa gasps as she picks it up. Suddenly, another gem falls on Neil’s head and another on Robin`s head. Melisa gathers all three gems. The gems create colorful bright lights and the three of them are magically transported to a really dark room with three frosted glasses.

In the first glass is Queen Christmas and in the second glass is Sparkle! Suddenly, a giant twig snatches Neil and locks him in the third glass. Neil and Melisa cannot move.

Then a horrible voice cackles, “Hello, ugly humans! You will be stuck here forever and become my prisoner! AND NEVER WAKE UP!”

The children cannot see Lord Dark as he is invisible. Queen Christmas sees their scared faces and she cries out to them, “Close your eyes! Close them! And wake up!” They did.

Robin sees a tiny bright light coming out from the locket of Melisa as it starts to move. “Melisa, look!” shouts Robin to his sister. Melisa grabs her locket, opens it, and aims it at the frosted glass where Queen Christmas is trapped.

A strong ray of golden light shines brightly from the locket, breaks the glasses and frees Queen Christmas, Sparkle and Neil. They see Lord Dark burned down by the golden light. Lord Dark is finally defeated and the castle glitters as bright as the diamond once again.

Queen Christmas hugs the kids tightly. “Thank you very much for your help. With your courage and strong faith, Lord Dark is defeated and everything in Christmas kingdom is filled with happiness again. We are going to miss both of you.”

Sparkle and Neil agrees and joins them. Neil thanks Robin for his bravery and Sparkle gives Melisa the fairy dusts. “Now, close your eyes children. Your parents are waiting for you.” Queen Christmas kisses the siblings goodbye.

“Wake up kids, wake up!” Their mom and dad say gently.

The two kids wake up and find themselves under their Christmas tree again. “That was an amazing dream. Do you agree, Robin?” Melisa asks her brother with a sleepy grin. He nods and yawns.

They narrate to their parents everything that happened while their Mom and Dad are eating Noche Buena. Their mom laughs and tells them they must have eaten something that make them asleep and dream. The kids smile and Robin and Melisa said together “It is a magical Christmas eve to remember! Do you agree?”
