Where children play in school

This continues our feature on play. Last time, we talked about places in the community where children play, this time we feature where in school children like to play in.

We visited different RAFI-supported projects and asked children: Where do you play? What do you play? We asked them to draw their answers.

One of the groups we asked were students in Guadix Kiddie Center. For those of you who are not familiar with the center, it is a day care center that primarily caters to marginalized children belonging to families from Barrio Luz, Cebu City.

We noticed that they drew playgrounds and playhouses where they play fun games and toys such as blocks and puzzles.

This is another reason for teachers to ensure that our homes, school, and playgrounds are safe for children to explore and play in. We can go a step further and transform available spaces in school into places where children can play safely.

Where do your children play? What do they play? Are their answers similar or different from the Guadix children's answers?

If you would like to share your child's answers, please do so on www.facebook.com/rafi.org.ph.
