Sabores de España

CEBU CAROUSEL - Joe C. Recio - The Philippine Star

The Marco Polo Plaza Hotel held its annual Sabores de España food festival at the Café Marco. It was a big success.

The opening of the food fest was at the Lobby Lounge of the hotel with General Manager Hans Hauri and his wife Bo Hauri hosting cocktails, followed by dinner. The occasion was graced by the presence of HE Don Jorge Domecq, Ambassador of Spain to the Philippines.

Instead of a ribbon cutting, there was a carving ceremony of the Spanish jamon Serrano by Mr. Hauri, Ambassador Domecq, Honorary Consul of Spain Jaime Picornell and Gema Luisa Pido, the Marco Polo's consultant for Spanish cuisine.

In his speech, Hans Hauri thanked the Ambassador for his presence, to which the visiting diplomat countered that he was happy to come this year as he did last, and maybe again next year.
