Grandeur at Waterfront/Balikbayans Galore
Waterfront Cebu City hotel & Casino just had its multi-million renovation of the grand and lower lobbies of the hotel. And the Grand Lobby was completed and opened to guests last May 3 yet. Waterfront's Assistant to the President, Weslie Gatchalian said: "With the launching of the newly-renovated lobby comes a promise of enhancing our present product and service offerings that will eventually yield to better guest experience."
Apart from improvements to the general structure of the lobby, the Lobby Lounge itself is offering an all-new dining and lunging experience with the newly installed glass panels, semi-enclosing each side of the lounge. What's more exciting is, you can have dinner or lunch at the Lobby al fresco, or ala carte. Not only that, to enhance the overall guest experience, the hotel's F&B Director Alastair Granger has put additional features such as nightly entertainment from the city's top performers, soulful afternoon music by soloists, a selection of afternoon tea package that is available to guests from 2 to 6 pm daily, by no less than the Pastry Chef Daniel Lajoux. Diners also have the option to choose from a variety of "flambe" creations which is created right in front of you. With us during this lunch date were Maebelle Varron, manager, marketing communications with Angelie Palicte, Salute Officer, Marketing Communications Assistant and Jackielyn Marie Alo, Salute Officer, Marketing Communications Assistant. The place? Very impressive indeed!

Balikbayan, Mike Llaban, after 30 years of living in the US, came to town one day and immediately contacted old friends like Betty Pinat Young, who likewise called their mutual friends and met at an uptown resto for a lengthy tell-us-all! Yes, Betty and Dave Young hosted a merienda-cena with close friends present. Before Mike left for LA, he was so well-known for his popular "caldereta" served at his restaurant near USC. Now, well settled, Mike is a resident in San Fernando Valley, California.
Another balikbayan who breezed into town a week ago was Remy Sanson Barnes, a 20-year resident of San Francisco, CA. Remy got married to a real estate businessman, Chester Barnes. Two years ago, she became a widow and started to come back regularly to Cebu. Following the footsteps of her late husband, Remy put up apartments in Happy Valley, Cebu City. This would be enough reason she'll be coming more frequently to our Queen City of the South!
