Colours Digital Foto @25

- Yasunari Ramon Suarez Taguchi - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - From its start as the humble Colours Foto Shop in the Abacus Center along Gen. Maxilom Ave in 1987, to the opening of its first outlet in 1991 in the Arcenas Building in downtown Colon, Cebu has witnessed the growth of Colours Digital Foto, which recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary last June 19, 2012.

Trailblazing at 25, Cebu had also seen Colours Foto Shop open its doors in the then-newly established SM City Cebu in 1993, which was followed by the sight of Colours Foto Shop in the Ayala Center Cebu some five years later.

As Cebu saw Colours Foto Shop in new locations serving a bigger and broader clientele, Colours Foto Shop maintained its impressive photo printing service features, along with its diverse inventory of camera brand models, photography accessories, professional equipment and gear add-ons.

By the dawn of the new millennium, Colours Foto Shop reinvented itself, sporting the name Colours Digital Foto, adhering to the shifts and changes inspired by the dawn of the digital age.

By this time, Cebu saw Colours Digital Foto proudly stand out as the first to offer digital photo printing services in Cebu, along with being the first to offer digital cameras, with complementary accessories and gear.

Cebu then saw Colours Digital Foto expand to other key cities, with Colours Digital Foto in Tagbilaran in Bohol, Dumaguete in Negros Oriental, and in Cagayan de Oro in Misamis Oriental, with more branches to come in the days ahead.

From its start as the humble Colours Foto Shop in the Abacus Center along Gen. Maxilom Ave in 1987, to the opening of its first outlet in 1991 in the Arcenas Building in downtown Colon, Cebu has witnessed the rise and growth of Colours Digital Foto.

But as Cebu plays the role of witness to Colours Digital Foto's growth, what has Colours Digital Foto seen?

Colours Digital Foto, in its endearing 25 year run, has seen Cebu's photography landscape shift from film to digital. It has maintained its role as Cebu's premier photography venue, actively followed by professionals and hobbyists alike, a status which speaks volumes of Colours' take on quality service, quality product highlights and a dedicated adherence to the norms of new trends and developments.

As a photography-specific venue, Colours Digital Foto's active 25 year history speaks a lot about Colours Digital Foto's discipline, dedication and determination in offering only the best to Cebuanos, attributes which can be ascribed as a Colours Digital Foto brand which has seen Colours through 25 years, and for sure, will see Colours Digital Foto thrive to 50 and beyond.

In the ever-changing landscape of new trends and tech standards, Colours Digital Foto evolves with the new, yet maintains the service and standard variables which has made it a force in the region's photography scene.

Having sold close to 3 million cameras since its younger days and earning the support of professional photographers such as Cebu's Ted Madamba, Colours Digital Foto at 25 remains to be the same Colours Foto Shop it once was, with Cebu and Colours looking forward to the promises and prospects of new heights to come in Cebu and in Philippines' Photography Scene.
