At peace in Langkawi
CEBU, Philippines - After a tiring day at work, nothing comes to mind but the comforts of your sheets at home.
But wouldn't it be better if you get to sleep at night with a peaceful mind, body and spirit? There's one place that can definitely soothe that tired body.
Langkawi Discovery Spa is Cebu’s newest when it comes to body massage, facials and other means “to treat your spirit, mind and body to a complete and extraordinary reviving experience.”
Langkawi is a Malaysian-themed luxury type organic spa that uses organic oil in their services. The name of the spa comes from the two Malaysian words langka meaning beauty and wi meaning innumerable.
Owner Cesar Capili bought the spa last year from the original owner after seeing its niche in the market of using organic oil.
Cesar runs the business with wife Mary Ann. A licensed real estate agent and chemical engineer by profession, Cesar admitted that venturing into the spa business was not he originally thought of. But when the opportunity knocked, he couldn’t refuse it because he saw the spa’s big potential.
After formally opening the spa under his management in August 2011, Cesar said he made the right decision as he saw more customers coming in especially after offering promos.
From P300 for the full body massage, Langkawi now offers it for only P175 from 10am to 3pm. From 4pm to 11pm, they also have the 3+1 offer, where for a group of four, only three would pay the regular price of P300.
Langkawi is stretched out in a 152-square-meter location at the second level west entrance of Parkmall, Mandaue. It has 14 beds, three reclining chairs, with 15 well-trained staff to attend to you.
Cesar said that despite using luxury organic oil, the prices of their services are still affordable. The organic oil is proven to be safer to any skin types.
30 percent of their current clientele are Korean nationals. In fact, Langkawi was featured in a Korean local paper as one of the must-visit spas in Cebu.
With more customers coming in, the Capili couple saw the need to expand hence the Indiana Condotel branch along D. Jakosalem St., to be unveiled in April. (FREEMAN)
